  • In the final few weeks of term 2, interested year 10 and 11 students were interviewed for some casual positions at the local library. The interviews were conducted by a consultant from one of the major hiring agencies. On completion of the interview, the consultant advised the interviewees of any areas that needed to be addressed (if selected for the next round.) A few students were short listed and attended a second interview at Burwood library from which two students were offered positions.

All students interviewed were able to experience first hand various components of the processes required to obtain employment, including:

  • Preparing a resume
  • Interview process(es)
  • On line application submission

  • The school year has reached the half way point. However, for the senior years, there is only eleven more weeks of their current year.

  • Year 12 in addition to their study have to ensure all their post school applications (e.g. TAFE and University) have been completed.

  • Year 11 students have to confirm their final subject selection for their HSC year.

  • Year 10 students have a few decisions to make. Starting with whether to follow a career path outside school (such as TAFE), or continue in high school and which subject combinations to select for their senior years.

  • Year 10, 11 and 12 please refer to your respective link for the latest information.

  • I am always available in the library during recess and lunch breaks (with the following exceptions: staff meetings, playground duty or when I am required away from school.)

  • Students are reminded to always bring a pen and something to write on (school diary is ideal.) when they see me with an inquiry.
